Concieved and executed in early summer 2007 The Henry Brothers have had an amazing first year, shows for the Brighton Festival, Glastonbury Festival and Camp Bestival and Bestival lots of gigs in and around their home town of Norwich, appearing at the infamous Brixton Windmill-London plus singing live twice on the BBC. The Henry Brothers were born in rural Norfolk, these identical twins began making music together while still in the womb.
They've been in various bands together over the years.
Mark took up the Steel Guitar six years back and after immersing himself in delta-blues guitar techniques he has emerged as a competant picker and he and brother Graham have blended that feel into all these songs .
'I'm loving the simplicity of the sound and the quality of these woderful old songs.' -(Graham).
'I'm loving singing about killin' & stuff'-(Mark).

REVIEWS----------------------------------------------------------------- Northamptons Legendary Labour Club
Saturday 13th Dec 2008 They both sing in strong, high tenor voices and play songs that are not commercial in nature and are way outside of what is usually perceived as a regular stage performance repertoire.
Their sophisticated vocal harmony arrangements were a treat for all. But it was their skill of telling slow, sad , often violent narratives set to primitive music, that had the crowd clapping and cheering for more.
The crowd loved em, they loved the crowd, and with out doubt, they were the highlight of this year: The Boiler Club presents Unsigned Heroes.

Hallo ducks! Was an absolute pleasure to see you as always! I enjoy playing with bands whose lyrical bodycount is as high as ours. Heheh. I have just realised I will be out of town on the 5th so unfortunately won't be able to make it to the Sheepwalk after all, curses! It's such a great night there, hope you knock 'em dead.
Enjoy the Norwich Body Art festival, where two worlds collide - you might see my friends Stephen and Carol there - Stephen will be in tattoos and bondage gear with a nice woolly jumper over the top. Lovely.
Four more little sonic gems for your August pleasure are now available on the site. Blitzen Trapper, Boulder Acoustic Society, Jay Brannan and The Wiyos. Yet another fine quartet even though we say so ourselves as picked them out.
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
