Tiv gets new house, flat mate has a guitar, guitarist steve picks up guitar, tiv scribbles down lyrics. we record the song on a e-mac, it sounds mediocre. We continue to write songs under the name 'drunkard sessions'. 4 songs later, someone listens and comments that they are not that shit. We the go to the studio with calum included and piss around without a drummer for about a year. Calum then asks friend nicky a.k.a the ant, if he would be interested in playing drums, as they had both jammed together a few times. We've been practicing together as a full band for a few months now and have just recently started gigging. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Demo review from http://www.phillygirlabouttown.com/
Ian "The Tiv" Tivendale is the lead singer of an up-and-coming band called The Heralds who are based in Dundee, Scotland. The Heralds only recently formed, and as with any other new band, their quiet beginnings have consisted of a few simple demo tracks between flatmates "Tiv" and Steve "Burcat" Burke, who casually began jamming at home. Girl About Town caught notice of these songs online and was blown away.
The Heralds songs were originally recorded on an e-mac with Tiv and Steve, and then brought into a studio with new band members to re-record. These tracks are quite notable in the sense that for being demos, they are smashing, original-sounding compositions that definitely deserve some attention. Their sound and influences which range from pop and rock to jazz and northern soul form the basis of their songs which consist of echoing and charged vocals, jagged guitars, and chunky rhythm. If only the novel High Fidelity were written seven years later; this band could have been imagined as Nick Hornby's Kinky Wizards.
Our new album is out on Friday, May 1st, and nobody anywhere has it yet. If you buy only one the price is $12. But if you buy more than one, the price is less than $9 each. So buy 10. It will cost you about $90, but you'll be able to sell them to your friends for $12 each and make a profit.
Thanks you for been friends. We put on shows in Glasgow and surrounding. We cater for touring bands and local bands. Interested in a show get in touch.
