the heroes are horses was started by mark bradley-shoup, jim tate, and kenny burnap in 1998 as an experiment in folk music, combining simple song structure, traditional instruments and effected radio static with elements of the avant-garde. includes tracks from early recordings made with charles allison in 1998 (coos bay and in 3). all other tracks recorded by jim at corner room from 98-07. features buddy t. from lambchop, ryan dixon of the quiet ones and bob stagner of the legendary improvisation duo, the shaking ray levi society. our stuff is available at cdbaby.com.
