The Hidden Hand was Scott "Wino" Weinrich's third go-around as cult doom band leader, after previously leading Spirit Caravan and The Obsessed to massive underground respect (he's also spent time in St. Vitus and Place Of Skulls). Virtually everything the man has done has been of the highest quality, and The Hidden Hand was no different in that respect, nor is this band really much different than his previous two, delivering classic Sabbath-styled doom, albeit less ponderous than his previous work. The songs are for the most part shorter and punchier, though still delivered with typical Wino zeal, with the formerly unknown rhythm section of Bruce Falkinburg and Dave Hennesey (since replaced by Matt Moulis) handling their roles like old pros. Lyrically, Wino has some political ideas to present to the world, but these are not as radical or as controversial as some of the pre-album buzz might have suggested. Ultimately this band, too, ran its course, with Wino closing the books here in August 2007.
Guys is it possible and how can i find the "high volume" or the "doom capital compilation????????. Also the song "someday soon" is only in a compilation too right???
You guys mentioned the Aztec myth of Quetzalcoatl in one of your interviews; the only Aztec god that they didn't offer up sacrifice to. I really was impressed with your intellect Scott.
Long have I loved all of your work Wino and this project is particularly amazing! You are a fucking legend and deserve a hall of fame nomination a thousand times over! From the corner is where it starts...
