High Rise Diaries are an established band on the North East UK music scene, after accumulating loyal support and a growing reputation through playing the finest venues in both Newcastle Upon Tyne and Sunderland.

The earliest recorded demo tracks; "Bodies", "Made Of Muscles", and "You Are My Ghost" were the first to be recorded in July '05. These tracks were debuted at the Chillingham Arms, Heaton, Newcastle in the summer of '05 to a tight crowd of loyal family and rowdy friends along with the track "Honey".

Live performances give the band the platform they need to demonstrate a more purposeful sound to the songs, and this has never been more evident than with the newest material. Additions to the live set in 2009 were; "Sell Me You", "Patron Saint of Lost Causes" and "Boy in a Rush".

The tracks for the "Sell Me You" single were recorded and produced independently in April 2009. In Autumn 2009 the band added "Machines" and "Recruitment" to their set after Ben joined as the new Bass guitarist. Demo versions of the songs "Palaces", "Propeller" and "Pulse" were added in October '09, as a warm up to recording another CD. The tracks "Machines", "Palaces" and "Propeller" were recorded and produced by the band in November and distributed in early December to fans at the Cluny 2 gig in Newcastle. More live dates to be announced soon!

Keep checking the live dates section as it is updated regularly - and we will always reply to your messages and comments. So please get in touch.

   Press Reviews

"The High Rise Diaries have a purpose. They are FOR something. I listen to too many bands these days and I’m left thinking: ‘Hmm… alright I suppose, but what’s the point?’ The High Rise Diaries give you the impression that they need to exist; exist so they can propel you into their world which is as taut as a mini-skirt over the backside of a Bigg Market lass. There’s a nagging insistency to their songs which manage to combine a sense of brooding with a sense of release in a manner which calls to mind Suede, although they don’t have that same kind of languidness. This is more urgent stuff."

(The Crack Magazine; April 2009)

...and again!

"The flyer for the new High Rise Diaries gig has a quote on it stating: “The High Rise Diaries have a purpose. They are FOR something. This is urgent stuff.” And do you know what viewers? That quote is from us (i.e. The Crack magazine). And guess what? We were right. This bunch play the kind of tunes which restores your faith in tunes."

The release of their new album tops off a whirlwind year of touring, the infamy surrounding their charged live perfomances steadily mounting. Rightly so, check out this youtube link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmEHu-QAgNE&feature=related - and marvel at one of the typically unpredictable gigs of the band that Spin have declared the "most exciting live band in rock'n'roll."

Yea, they sound tight considering they're live!
Obv. you'll have a better sound once there down properly.
-Will check back for the finished product!

I'll see if I can't make it down too the cluny gig. :-D

MOB aren't really anymore...

Have been working on a new funk project.
Have managed to put a pretty tidy line-up together so far. Still minus a lead vocal, so am auditioning at present!
Lots to do for me still! :-D

Laterz,
