The same radical right-wing groups behind Florida's divisive Amendment 2 are at it again. This time they are promoting Gainesville's Charter Amendment 1, which is designed to take existing basic anti-discrimination protections away from the city's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender residents.
Click here to tell your Gainesville-area friends to stand up for equality by pledging to vote against Gainesville's Charter Amendment 1 on March 24th.

Progress Florida has joined groups as diverse as the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville City Commission, Equality Florida, ACLU of Florida and Planned Parenthood in opposition to the Charter Amendment. It is critical that this measure be defeated because we know that if it works in Gainesville the radical right will try it in other Florida cities - and on issues that extend beyond rights for LGBT Floridians.
