Hitchhikers Union began about 7 years ago as the brainchild of Tony Pannell and Jason Murry. Jason's unique style of songwriting and talent with six strings inspired and attracted Tony to learn his way around a mandolin.
Since then The Union has seen many faces but remains true to the outline initially established by it's core... "a poor boy's music"
The newest form the Union has taken remains unique and the addition of a female bass player/vocalist has driven them to another dimension aurally but remains in the unique genre that only the Union inhabit. Often thought of as alt. bluegrass or folk, americana is the only closest category this music could fall under.
You will still see some of Jason's material played but in the best interest of the Union and Jason's timeless material I intend to post no more than a few seconds of them.
Keep an eye on this page for those and other full length originals and future dates.

To dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus signs, with all memory and fate, driven deep beneath the waves, let me forget about today until tomorrow. Hmm..What is Bod telling us?

"May your family share laughter Your songs always play May your wishes come true Even those left unprayed Hand on my shoulder Gentle cloud on the hill May your heart's doors be open Forever and ever, may your glass, it be filled
Like a wheel to the river A mother's moon and sun Dreams against the wind Oh, and lifetimes undone Over and over And over again I was made stronger Forever and ever, knowing you as my friend
On the streams of tomorrow Blessed days out swim sorrows As we float on reawaken dreams

May your family share laughter Your songs always play May your wishes come true Even those left unprayed Hand on my shoulder Gentle cloud on the hill May your heart's doors be open Forever and ever, may your glass be filled"
