At Points East Pub, February 28th, Chris, Scott and Will, a Milwaukee-based 3 piece, touted total spunky energy tempered with the forlornness of various styles all in the right shapes. They inflicted song after song to a crowd that seemed to be enjoying the show much as I was. They sing with olive-oiled vocal chords and write lyrics like they..ve been mixing their Tequila with crushed peyote. They do it right! And no, I'm not going to hit you with some "but we..ve found better" bullsh*t. That said, The Hollywood Ungers are a sure-shot band that don..t give the appearance that they..re trying too hard when they play live. The Hollywood Ungers have got that "we don..t give a f*ck what you think ..cos we love what we..re doing" thing down pat. And as for their recorded material, they..re a group that..s lurked confidently since the Fall of 2006 release of four tunes on Myspace.The Hollywood Ungers is definitely a must see act that will keep you rocking the entire night.
