   About The Home Guard
"Indie/Rock/Pop" doesn't really do The Home Guard justice - when you listen to our music, you'll likely hear elements of new wave, folk, progressive rock, Britpop, glam rock, art rock and plenty more besides.

It's impossible to pigeonhole us into any particular genre (though possibly the closest anyone's ever come is when they tagged The Home Guard as "progressive indie" on Last.fm). The reason for this is that we make the sort of music that we ourselves enjoy - and given our rather odd list of influences, it's hardly surprising that it doesn't fit in with mainstream trends. If any of The Home Guard's music sounds close to the current musical fashions, we assure you that this is purely coincidental!

With influences as varied as Queen, Jethro Tull, Madness, Elvis Colstello, Blur, Van Der Graaf Generator and The Beatles, you'd be forgiven for expecting a confused mish-mash of styles. But far from sounding bizarre, odd, or just plain wrong, it all comes together in a way that sounds uniquely The Home Guard. This is music that is bound to make you think, smile, and hopefully tell your friends.

cheers guys! it seems we follow the same philosophy, like you our influences are huge! they range from the genious of brubeck to the brutality of suicide silence and everywhere inbetween. I imagine it won't be long before the tap-inspired jazz odyssey appears on our myspace! had your tunes on while thinking about this one, sounding great!

Hey,  Thanks for dropping by and saying Hi.  Checked out your music. I LIKE!.  But I just knew that I would with the influences that you had. Great taste, Todd Rungren, Queen,  Moody Blues,  What can I say. You learned from the best.  And it shows, in your music.  Becky

Thank you so much for checking out my website - I really appreciate it & I'm delighted you like it!

Had a little listen to your album tracks - very good! Quirky and quintessentially British. I wish you all the best with it in this uncertain climate.

Do keep me up-to-date.

All the best,
Doz x

Excited about your new album, that's great :)

As for my own, it's pretty much been together for several months now, but slow new things keep creeping onto it... We'll see if I finally cut it off and just start a new one.

I sure hope that this isn't the future of things to come!  Our audio wouldn't sound as good, and we'd lose potential listeners!
