The Honey Offering(US) was born in Missouri in the late 80'S by guitarist Jason Priest, drummer Jon Thrower, bassist Steve Faris, & vocalist Pat Stephens . T.H.O. was formed by members of their former group , The Underground Love Sound . T.H.O. practiced at Jon's house at this time . The band had a loyal following in their area & played many shows , often playing shows every weekend at different clubs in Missouri, Illinois, & Tennessee .
Their style was avante garde rock, mixed with punk, & experimental styles . Also included were many chance operation concepts on recordings made by the band . From audio samples to recording " noise tracks " over the top of material, there were no limits to what would be included . " Free Song Land " was also a concept T.H.O. experimented with . This term was created by them & referred to the concept of improvising with a very open canvas . Songs were written by all members of the band .
There were member changes in the later 80's that brought in second guitarist Kirby Ray, as well as a new bassist Derick Sander . After Pat decided to leave the band, Kirby Ray took over on vocals . T.H.O practiced daily for years ( at Washington Street & Harmony Street in Cape Girardeau, MO ) to achive their vision of connecting all the songs as one during shows . For a long period Stu & Jon played together at practice, shows, & recordings & at one point there were three drummers , when Melivin Jones did a short stint . Influences were such as John Cage, Bad Brains, Nomeansno, AC/DC, D.R.I., Janes Addiction, Magma, Soundgarden, Hawkwind, Black Flag, & Frank Zappa just to name a few .
The band recorded several times themselves & usually gave the copies out for free . The first professional recording was done by Don Baily in Millstadt Illinois at Bird Records studio & was titled " Ettadomacca . " The second recording was titled " Tram Law " & was never officially released , although copies were circulated to bands & friends . The band played shows through the mid 90's & the last few practices were while the band members were living in Calilfornia doing projects with Steerjockey, Forn, The Grimshaws, Gikk, & the begining stages of Emaciation .
T.H.O. played with bands such as : The Taintskins, Lungbutter, Adios Gringo, Man With Gun Lives Here, The Organic Jam, Pyle, Brave Little Toaster, Cookie Monster, Black Cauldron, The Bubble Girls, Beggars Jury, Paperclip Nun, Simple Mary, & many more .

I really like this stuff.... it sounds absolutely nothing like what I do, and perhaps that's why, or perhaps it's because deep down, I'm still that Seattle kid going to grunge concerts way back when... well, anywyas here's my little blurb:
