Sounds Like
Al Chan, John Seabury, and Steve Nelson having a blast playing their favorite songs by The Who
The HOO are not your run-of-the-mill tribute band. We do not dress up and we do not try to be the Who. However, we do have a deep love and respect for what the Who stands for and what they still do to this very day - ROCK the tarnation out of Peter Towshend's songs! Hawaiian guy Al Chan from the Rubinoos, John Seabury of the Psycotic Pineapple, and drummer Steve Nelson of Earthquake formed the HOO in 2001 to play their favorite songs of the Who at the local pub. The HOO loves the Who Sell Out, sings My Generation, A Quick One, Meaty etc., Endless Wire, Odds and Sods, Who's Next, Tommy, Quadrophenia, Live at Leeds, View From Backstage Pass, and By Numbers. But I must truthfully add that we are partial to their hardworking early days when Roger's hair was straightened with Dippity-Do and before Pete decided to wear a white boilersuit...
Steve Nelson plays a Premier Spirit of Lily drum kit.
The featured studio tracks were recorded by Dan Alexander and both studio and live recordings were mixed by studio wizard John Cuniberti. The harmonica solo on Baba O'Riley was played by the great Jerry Zeiger. Hope that you dig these recordings...
