To complete their debut album, recorded for less than £2,000 wandering between a professional studio and their own homes, THE HOPE have battled against incarceration, lost songs, lack of finance and an ex-band member (now a serving police officer).
“A Bullet Called Hope” stands like an analogy of the self-destructive tendencies of the band; regardless of their own strong message of ‘Loving the music and despising the violence,’ they never appear far from controversy or disorder.
Since their first E.P. release in the summer of 2007 “Burn This City” and the subsequent nationwide tour dates that followed (ending prematurely after in-fighting), THE HOPE have been working on new material whilst concentrating on adding to the hardcore faction of their fan base.
Finally at the end of 2008 and through a year’s worth of break-ups and break-downs, “A Bullet Called Hope” finally escaped the womb. Like a two headed beast preaching confrontation whilst simultaneously pleading for compassion and peace, this duel helps define the deep emotional outlay the band have poured into their debut album.

"This is the way we live, and every song you hear from us is dragged from the gutter that is our srewed up lives. We certainly do not apologise for writing songs that take a political, social, sexual or multi-cultural stance. It makes a change from the heartless pop most so-called bands today seem to shit out. Were more than happy for you to hate us, because more than likely we hate you back, just with more style and passion. So a massive hug and respect to those in favour and a massive 'FUCK YOU' to those opposed. Cheers for listening................ now go do something meaningful with your life (were trying)."

"This band could inspire a new sound of Punk Rock!" - Kerrang!
"There's nothing new about a tattooed Rock band causing a bit of chaos, but these boys look like they f*****g mean business." - Bizarre Magazine
"Here's some rockers with bollocks the size of bowling balls again! New saviors of punk? There wasn't much punk before there was The Hope! Believe it! Get the Bullet right between your eyes, mutherfuckers!"
- Tom Wylde, Hard Rock Radio (US)
".....Ominous, futuristic, with brutally powerful riffs. The Hope is a means to an end. Love The Hope or hate The Hope, there are no in-betweens. Either way, you'll always have to deal with The Hope." - Bury Free Press
“….When I think about bands most likely to inject some passion, some belief, some commitment and some bollocks back into the local music scene, The Hope are always near the top of my list. Coming on live in leaps and bounds, they are now an awe inspiring stage presence – a lean, mean onslaught of noise, energy, melody and attitude….” - R*E*P*E*A*T fanzine
"Remembrance Day is a well put together tune... you guys are awesome... thanks for combining your skills in a way that brings honour to soldier and country!” Troops In Afghanistan (Operation Sandbox), comment on our myspace page. "This Has To Be The Most Direct And Cutting Anthem Of Modern Times"
