Socially relevant songs, hard-bitten and resonant of fiercely smart punk of decades past, The Hopeless combine Michael’s menacing signature guitar power chords and Jonathan’s super bass line fills, along with Wags tight metronome drum style patterns / hooks into bulleting riffs and balance it into Michael’s catchy, layered songwriting lyrics. Their live shows are peppered with a slight edgy political repertoire that has been lost by banal public politeness and kick starts an openly expressed raw participatory revolt against what’s wrong in our world of today.

The band members of The Hopeless have the street grit of urchin punksters, combined with the gentile education of classically trained elite music collage graduates. Michael Ridgeway-Collins came out of the “Los Angeles School of Recording and Engineering,” while Jonathan Sturman and Michael “Wags” Wegener attended the “Berklee College of Music,” in Boston. The Hopeless are activating brain cells and lifting their instruments in reverence to the subversive, the revolutionary and artistic roots of punk rock.

Recent bragging rights for The Hopeless include the signing a record deal with the late “Artie Mogul‘s former, indie label “Insane records Inc” as his first act. “Artie’s other major signings over the past decades include, (Bob Dylan, John Denver, The Band, Dusty Springfield, Lynyrd Skynyd, Kenny Rogers, Laura Nero, Helen Reddy, Crystal Gayle, Olivia Newton-John, Peter, Paul and Mary, Deep Purple, ELO, Hootie & the Blowfish) just to name a few of Artie’s huge success of world famous signings to international fame.

The Hopeless arranged, produced, and performed the end title track for Piper Films UK "Over the Rainbow" featuring Dizzy Reed of "Guns & Roses" (keyboards). They also released a three song CD for the late Princess Diana’s “Adopt-A-Minefield” foundation a non-profit organization. "THE HOPELESS" have also signed a major publishing deal with world renowned Notting Hill Music Group.
