Its landed…its arrived…the biggest thing to hit Wakefield since the Beatles played The Regal at the bottom of Kirkgate! …The Hop is here!
Bringing quality real ale to the crowds and offering an edgy, contemporary interior, the bar is staked with 9 real ale hand pulls and a plethora of free pour spirits.
The Hop is already breathing new life into Wakefield’s bar scene, offering the finest selection of live music that the wonderful region of Yorkshire has to give.
If you require a little more from your favourite bar in ways of entertainment…then look no further…a monthly slot plays host to the ever popular ‘Kill for a Seat’ comedy night, showcasing not only local but national up and coming (and more established) names in comedy.
AND…if that wasn’t already enough for you, April sees us unleashing our next venture when we climb the stairs to the second floor and pull off the dust cloths to reveal…The Hops very own live music and dance studio!
Running a variety of classes including Break Dance, Salsa, Hip Hop and Street our courses will include classes for children and adults. So if those dark nights are proving a little unhelpful in getting you out of the house and to the gym or even just off the sofa, then why not come and try something different and join one of our classes? Dance has the brilliant effect of getting you fit without you even realising!

This will be host to all that is great in live music and comedy, both locally and nationally. Running Wednesday, Friday and Sat nights the venue will cover a wide spectrum of sound from indie to jazz to classical to rock and elsewhere! Keep checking the site to see what’s coming.
