Formed in September 2006 by Danny Gough, the Horn Identity - a group of young musicians from the York area, began their journey, striving to hit York with a bit of musical diversity. Mixing funk, hip-hop and elements of jazz, HID set out to create fun, danceable music with positive vibes, and to put on nights for everyone to enjoy.
A string of great gigs spawned a recording at Hall Place Studios, Leeeds, Summer 2007.
The result was a 6 track album includes the songs: 'Beauty of the Chase', 'Roller-Disco', 'What on Earth', 'Blue Skies', 'Intuition' and 'Jazz Police'. Featured soloists include Danny Gough (Flugelhorn on 'Blue Skies'), Ben Beattie (Tenor Sax on 'Blue Skies'), Charlie Bayley (Keys on 'Jazz Police') and Mark Dean (Guitar on 'Beauty of the Chase'). The rapping talents of McRf can also be heard on 'Blue Skies', 'What on Earth' and 'Jazz Police'.
The band has since disbanded, but would like to thank everyone who has listened, danced and enjoyed!
