The adventure started in the end of 2004 when Folkert and Maarten met each other for a weekly jam session. They played some songs of “The Offspring” and “Bad Religion”. During fall, Henk joined the band to take care of the vocals. He also played guitar. A few jam sessions later, they decided to take their sessions to a higher level. Just before summer 2006, the first own song was written by The Horrible Twunts: Robot Religion. Though, the band was missing a bass player, so they asked Marten (former “Thanks for Nothing” bass-player) to join the band. When all roles were taken, they decided to only play self-written songs instead of covers. During the creation of the songs, Marten was playing the guitar to share his ideas with the rest of the band. This worked out so well that Marten switched to playing guitar, and Maarten took over the bass guitar. Because of this, not only their roles changed, but the genre changed as well. This was due to the different musical influences of each band member. After this mix-up, Henk decided he wanted to focus more on his singing. This was when the band started searching for another second guitarist. During the summer of 2007, Kevin visited one of the band’s weekly sessions and joined the band as second guitarist not much later. More and more metal influences made the band louder and play more technical riffs. When this happened each band member was feeling like they should keep this up, because this was something that was never heard before. The sound of THT is described best as Alternative. Its a mixture of different music styles. Because it’s difficult to explain our genre to people, they recorded a demo so people could find out their self. Get ready for your own State of Confusion!
