Established in April, 8th of 2004, The Host's purpose was always to summon the true essence and litanies of dark music through the creation of devilish hymns of blasphemic art.
The Host's first line-up consisted of War (vocal); Janderson (guitars); Alexandre (bass and backing vocals); and J. Luiz (drums); released on September 2nd of the same year their debut demo tape “Dark New Age”. Recorded in the host’s “sick room” and released as a rehearsal tape, it received positive feedback, allowing the band to go into the studio 2 months later to professionally record those songs. At that time, before the recording sessions, J. Luiz decided to leave the band as well. The drums position could not be filled at the time, thus this demo-CD was recorded with no drummer. Neither this stopped the band and this second demo “We Are The Host For The Fallen Ones”, released in January 2005, marked the band’s true recognition in the metal scene of Brazil’s underground, collecting many complements from the specialized press.
Things went slow for quite sometime for live appearances till the band finally found a drummer that is still being part of The Host as of today, João Paulo. With a stable line-up, the band was finally ready to unleash on stage once again. Many concerts followed, always with extreme and positive reactions from the public.
Two years have passed since the formation of The Host and now was the time to go even further.
Then, on April 9th, 2006 they entered DR Studios (from the well known Brazilian band Drowned) to record even more consistent and aggressive themes which conjugates brutality with hellish melody. With a high quality sound, the songs were produced under the attention of Marcos Amorim (Drowned’s guitar player) and The Host. These recordings came out as the brand new release of the band, “War, Chaos and Blasphemies...”. This masterpiece is consisted of seven songs and it was pressed as an advanced promo-CD, exclusively made in search for honest deal offers from labels which may be interested on The Host’s blasphemy and insanity, because the next step and the band principal aim at the moment is a debut CD in a near future.
Nowadays, the band is currently preparing new songs and divulgating the band’s sound on live performances, in fact, to promote its latest release.

Fundada em 8 abril de 2004, o objetivo da The Host sempre foi convocar a verdadeira essência e litanias da música obscura através da criação de diabólicos hinos de blasfêmica arte.
A primeira formação do The Host, War (vocal), Janderson (guitarra), Alexandre (baixo); e J. Luiz (bateria), lançou em 2 setembro do mesmo ano sua debut demo tape "Dark New Age". Gravada na doentia sala da banda e lançada como uma cassete-ensaio, este trabalho recebeu muitos comentários positivos, encorajando a banda a ir para o estúdio 2 meses mais tarde, para gravar profissionalmente as músicas. Naquele tempo, antes das gravações da bateria, J. Luiz decidiu deixar a banda. A posição de baterista não pôde ser preenchida naquele momento, assim que, esta demo-CD foi gravada utilizando-se bateria programada. Mas isto não atrapalhou a banda e esta segunda demo "We Are The Host For The Fallen Ones", lançada em Janeiro de 2005, marcou para a banda seu verdadeiro reconhecimento na cena Underground Brasileira, conseguindo muitos elogios a partir da imprensa especializada.
As coisas correram bastante lentas por algum tempo no que diz respeito a shows devido à falta de um baterista até a banda finalmente encontrar um substituto, João Paulo. Com um line-up estável, a banda estava finalmente pronta para atuar no palco novamente. Muitos shows seguiram, sempre com reações positivas do público.
Dois anos se passaram desde a formação da banda, e agora era vez de ir ainda mais longe.
Então, em 9 de Abril de 2006, entraram no DR Studio (da bem conhecida banda brasileira Drowned) para gravar sons ainda mais consistentes e agressivos que conjugariam brutalidade com melodia infernal. Com uma elevada qualidade de som, as músicas foram produzidas sob a atenção de Marcos Amorim (guitarrista do Drowned) e The Host. Estas gravações se tornaram o novo lançamento da banda, "War, Chaos and Blasphemies...". Esta obra é composta de sete músicas e foi divulgada como um promo EP, exclusivamente, em busca de ofertas de contrato honesto com selos que poderiam se interessar na blasfêmia e loucura do The Host, pois a próxima etapa e principal objectivo no momento era um debut CD em um futuro próximo.
Atualmente, a banda está prepararando novas músicas para o tão almejado CD oficial e divulgando o som da banda em performances ao vivo.
