Wiith its roots in Saturday night beer-fueled singalongs in the living room of Greg and Melissa Host, the ensuing agglomeration known as 'The Hosts,' slowly grew into a 5 piece outfit made distinctive by the classic sounds of vintage instruments coupled with modern electronica, soaring m/f harmonies, jangly pop tunes and guileless confessional lyrics.
As card-carrying members of the new Paisley Movement, The Hosts share a mission to return bubblegum and LSD; clean jangling guitars and be-ins; and love, love beads, love to the musical landscape.
Clad only in Nehru jackets and decades of pretense, war, pollution and inactivity, The Hosts have been roused from their somnambulant hibernation like languid seed pods planted in 1967, ready to take on whomever should listen to their shameless modern pop songs.
"Detroit is home to a countless number of talented bands, and The Hosts are no exception. Their signature blend of indie garage pop is redefining what we know about music from Detroit. Every song is packed full of soaring melodies and soulful lyrics while the music is heavily influenced by the timeless sound of the 60's. Whether you're a fan of the classics or a new age indie lover, The Hosts just might be your new favorite band." - Local Music Life.com
"The Hosts - Should be called The Ghosts because this pop is scary good!" - Roctober Magazine No. 46 (Winter 2009)
