   About Raymond James
Quote''' There is no doubt after god made Singer/Songwriter Raymond James he definately threw away the mould ''Unquote so said Producer/Engineer Nigel Pegrum well nigel should know after all he has produced Three Albums for the Irish born musician. ever since the days when he was giving his teachers more grey hairs than the needed raymond james has been a singer as a teenager he worked as many odd jobs as he could to buy his first guitar with the aid of a song book and listening to songs on the radio he learned to to play. it was now the ''beatlemania'' era but by chance raymond became aware of ''folk music'' and his musicial direction changed forever. he started to attend folk clubs which gave musicians the oppertunity to sing and play and meet other singers. he started to write his own songs and decided to pursue a career in music. in 1986 raymond james arrived in australia travelling around for a while he eventually settled in cairns north queensland and joined the band''erins pride'' the pride performed on a regular basis and played at some of the regions major festivals. when erins pride called it a day raymond set out on a solo career and recorded his first solo album ''the working man'' this album braught to peoples awareness his ability to write his own songs. the title track was featured on radio 4ccr fm compilation album ''cairns compact'' it was about this time that raymond james met prducer/engineer nigel pegrum who was once a member of the world renowed group''steeleye span''together these two musicians recorded the album ''conversation with a stranger'' which was album of the week on radio a.b.c farr north. this album opened many doors for raymond james and braught his music to a whole new listening audience. his next recording was an album recorded with the celtic label ''locrian records'' based in adelaide south australia the album ''home to the heartland '' was a return to where it all began and the music he grew up listening to. in 2006 raymond again teamed up with producer nigel pegrum and recorded the album ''songs from a northern town'' Raymond James spends most of his time touring to promote his songs and music. He has recorded five albums of all original material and has built up a solid reputation in queensland. Raymond has also been featured on A.B.C. Radio and wrote the signature Song ''Hooked On Fishing'' for the award winning show ''FishTalk'' which won Show of the year. Raymond is also an award winner with the Australian Songwriters Association having written the song ''Time to say Sorry' which was placed fifth in the National Songwriting Contest in 2000. albums recorded the working man, conversation with a stranger, home to the heartland, live in concert, songs from a northern town.

Hi Raymond,

Just a short message to let you know your CD arrived safe and sound and has had it's first playing. I was going to let you know what I thought were the stand out tracks, but unfortunately you have made one hell of a good CD and they are all stand out tracks. Damn! makes my life harder. But on the positve side, I now have another CD in my collection that will get a lot of plays just for the pure enjoyment of the music. great work Raymond! I was hooked from the first track 'Party on the Beach' and they got even better from there. You have crafted some wonderful songs and your vocal and instamental performances are just spot on (alongside the very talented musicians who also play on the album). Tikarma greatly enjoyed the album too and wanted to let you know that she loved 'Our House'.

I would normanlly say "Thank you for the CD", but this is more a case of "Thank you for the music".

I hope this message finds you well and good luck & all the best,

Jamie

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for the add and a big double thank you for taking the time out to drop by for a listen and your lovely message. I'm glad you liked Dail Chuinnidh. It means a lot to me as it is a very special song.

I've had a ball listening to the songs on your myspace. You took me to many a smokey pub with your wonderful songs and great sense of humour. And I just loved the earthy blues of Cane Train Blues. What a fantastic track! I could just listen to that over and over (makes me want to hop in the car and head North!)

Keep up the great work and thank you for the friendship.

Take care,

Jamie
