Thee Hypnotic Chickens are veterans of the Mississippi underground rock and roll scene dating back to the early 80's. Formed in 2001, the band, led by songwriter, vocalist, guitarist Paul Tucker (ex-Sky-Pilots & Malt Liquor Kings), features former Radio London bassist John "Chet" Hicks, ex-Preacher's Kids guitarist Pat Cochran, and Larry Morrisey on drums.
"Rock & Roll Shakedown" was recorded and produced in 2004 by Chris Nicholas at Popaholic Records in Jackson, MS and remained unreleased until July of 2008 when it was released on the band's own imprint, Hypno Poultry Enterprises.
The video "I Roll" was directed by Jon Tucker at Rocket Films.
In March of 2008, the band came in second place on Goldie's Garage, a monthly, international, battle-of-the-bands radio program hosted by the legendary Genya Ravan (Goldie & the Gingerbreads, producer/Dead Boys) on Little Steven's Underground Garage Sirius Radio Channel 25. Look for thee Hypnotic Chickens to appear on the compilation Goldie's Garage Volume 1 in early 2009 on Wicked Cool Records.
