BIO (extended)

The actual formation of the band now known as the The Idiomatics first started with an invite to me (Mike), from Morris to jam at his house along with friend, "bassist", Matt. This actual, one time event took place sometime during the spring of '97 and the only song we played was "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix. Then came an intermission of what felt like a year, but more accurately perhaps only a couple months. I then recieved another invite to jam with Morris, along with (now) friends Wesley "Poehlmann Powerplay" on bass and vocals and The Guy on guitar. This jam turned productive formed what I consider to be the first true incarnation of the band. But progress was slow to move from a wedding and church performing cover band to all original music. During this transition an elite blues guitarist by the name of Mario came aboard to compliment (and to some compete with) the elite(r) Morris. Hard times hit after what was a premature "high point". Mario left the band due to personal (women) troubles and Wes left to serve a four year tour in the navy (not the song and dance routine kind of navy). The time now is post '99 and we were off with a second wind, the "we" being Morris, Guy and I (Mike). The title of singer was shoved into Morris' pants like a dead fish, but he donned the fish with courage. Oddly though we came to the conclusion that we needed a singer. [Enter Tom from stage left]. Tom sang for us for some time. He, being a good ole college boy, was a cool guy (not Guy) and contributed in your face, dare I type blue collar lyrics. But Tom's devotion to school, a standard we never picked up on, shot mixed signals to us and we cut him. For reasons of frankness I must add we did so dishonorably, we apologize. Then came a gap of rehearsing without a singer and then bam we got another singer. An up and up, well to do businessman named Damien. He sang for us for nearly a year. His efforts deserve more credit than we can give. He devoted more time to singing correctly than we did to rehearsing. The end product being neither us nor Damien felt he was what we were looking for in the band, so honorably, he was cut, but we liked his hustle. So the fish that was stuffed into Morris' pants was placed back in there, only this time it was fresh fish, grilled with an appropriate amount of lemon. When served on a plate with a beverage of choice it tastes like the Idiomatics, which by definition is
1.Characterized by proficient use of idiomatic expressions
2.Resembling or having the nature of an idiom
3.Using many idioms
4.Peculiar to or characteristic of the style or manner of a particular group or people.
Thank you all and goodnight.
