"To perform that well in front of thousands with such intricate musicianship is nothing short of amazing. They are bound to go very far" BBC Raw Talent (Leeds Festival Radio Show), August 2007
"Flitting from the celestial and epic to the offbeat and mechanistic ... producing a forceful, stadium-like wall of sound that puts their meandering contemporaries to shame." Leeds Metro, December 2006
"One of the hottest things to come out of Lincoln with a fresh sound and a real hunger for music. They are amazing" Lincolnshire Echo, March 2007
"Glimmering, echoing synths are shadow boxing with sharp guitar riffs that produce an electronic splurge of dance-trendy indie rock ... a dark, morose and extremely enjoyable portion of 80’s reflected indie noise." Unearthed Treasures, July 2007
"They’re smart and I like the fact I can’t figure out if they are being laid back or intense. That sort of tension keeps my attention." Sandman Magazine (Pete McGovern), September 2007
Due to the rumours that have been doing the rounds this week, I only felt it best to pen this message.
It's not one that I will enjoy writing, but one that needs to be sent.
As you may, or may not, have heard, there have been several rumours regarding the future of the band.
These rumours were connfirmed on last night's BBC Lincs Introducing show. For those of you who are wondering what the hell I'm talking about, The Idlers is no more.
The split is amicable, and with several reasons behind it. Our singer Joe is looking at moving away, and we all decided that we felt we had taken this band as far as we could.
We will be playing one final farwell gig at The Bivouac in Lincoln, 14th November. This promises to be a special and emotional night for us and we hope that you can make it along.
If not, then I would personally like to say thankyou for all your support during the last 3 years. It has been quite a journey, one that we have all enjoyed immensely, and look forward to continuing, in future projects already being planned.
Personally I believe that we have pushed the boundaries for live music in Lincoln, making several steps up and out of the county, provided a great advert for the city's talent, and raising the bar musically. It's now up to everyone else to carry this on, and run with it. I have every faith that this city is on the verge of something great.
Thanks again, and I hope this clears up a lot of mutterings, and I look forward to seeing you in the Biv, and back onstage again soon.
Chris.

Jay Collins and Mark Wagstaff AKA The Funk Junkies are Djs, producers and promoters from the north of England. Their club event 'charged' is one of the UK's fastest growing house brands throwing regular sell out parties across England, Malta and Ibiza. Last year saw the guys move up a gear and begin producing. In little under 12 months their productions have gained support from the likes of Steve Angello, Deepgroove, Sonny Wharton and more. The Funk Junkies first release on Elektriqa is a double A side. First up is Fragile, a peak time record with a simple yet hypnotic riff that definitely crosses musical boundaries. Gush, on the other hand is a dubby, twisted progressive house bomb graced with a tight and catchy lead. Keep an eye out for more Funk Junkies productions forthcoming on Elektriqa.

Hey there, Here's one from left field... Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat? A while back I came across some very disturbing information, which inspired me to make this video: Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4 Both artistic (ensure you've good enough sound to enjoy the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice. Though the source materials are somewhat aged, the fundamentals remain relevant today. I encourage all to visit the YouTube web page above to learn more (Show your support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly re-post and circulate as widely as possible. Help to raise awareness. Say have you checked out my web site (http://www.faberoptime.com) recently? Take care and keep in touch. Best, Faber. "Just a guy trying to make the world a better place."
