In March 2007, four unlikely teenagers decided to create a band. And although they had to get their parents to drive them from Stannington to Pitsmoor to Crookes to Totley to Crookes to Pitsmoor to Stannington to Totley etc. etc. to get to practices, it was worth it because they discovered they were actually quite good! And so The Illiodds were formed!
Over a year later, haircuts have changed and they're all a bit taller, older, wiser... The Illiodds have played at The Boardwalk a whole five times! (aren't we impressive) Including when they won The Broomhil Festival Battle of the Bands and when they supported John Otway and his Big Band. They've also headlined an afternoon slot at the famous Frog and Parrot and were the youngest band to ever take to the main stage at Sheffields Peace in the Park festival.
They've spent some time in a proper recording studio and recorded a few songs that will hopefully one day appear on an ep/demo thing. They've recieved praise from The Holloways, Little Man Tate and the man who wrote 5,6,7,8 by Steps! So what more can I say? You'd better watch out for Miss Penelope!
"The Illiodds have only been together three months and are only 13 and 14-years-old, but their song writing skills are better than most bands who have been together for years. This two boy / two girl combo offer up a brilliant mixture of indie / folk and jazzy keyboards on some superb original songs." - Ben Lewis - Sandman Magazine.
"We do not commit to gigs lightly. The Illiodds have talent beyond their years - not just 'good to say their a bunch of kids'... nay, I say, this band are something special. Powerful vocals, great songwriting..." - Frog and Parrot promo poster.
