   The Illustration Gallery's Blurbs
About me:

The Illustration Gallery is a new art space dedicated to the exhibition of contemporary illustration. The gallery is unique in its focus and will, we believe, play an important role in raising awareness of what is surely one of the most available and exciting artforms enjoyed today.

We show some 10 exhibitions a year, exploring varying aspects of contemporary illustration and celebrating the richness and diversity of the work of illustrators from both the UK and around the world.

Current exhibition:

CIA Show

CONSEQUENCES
63 ARTISTS/ONE HORIZON/90 FEET OF ARTWORK
CIA (Central Illustration Agency) have created ninety feet of undulating skyline and divided it amongst the illustrators they represent. The only rule was to follow that horizon. The result is a lavish and surreal sweeping landscape of heroic proportions where the oldest and newest of creative media collide at every turn.

Spilling into the guardmound like sulphur
To Lull brevity into a court of its fume,
beneath a quarter-stood monument there are heavenly tempests allowed to reside in secret that repel like siamese magnets with a furious volume of hollow density
i could have been the furthest from home sleeping with dreams made real
other side encounters pushed through a frame
instead, i awoke inside colossus and took his hand breached the every-country like prosimian mandate
held beliefs in a broken vase handed down to me
drowned in the spite of its pieces
(one by one) retained in echo torture
these are mangled cultures trapped in science
discreet in venom poured from a chalice helix.
distant quills vibrate in the monsoon air
Arias liquefy into an instinct couplet with gunhounds
An attempt to straighten the wings of the gilded mountain
we strife in our towers,
we molest the eden we came from
we deny its existence and fountain our words amongst us
Like trinity repellent spaced evenly around a trunk
numbers speak to each other in hope of disorder
Like letters falling deaf and lying into your mouth.
