About GROTESK THE SUBHUMAN

Grotesk the Subhuman (A.K.A. the Pale Rider, the Imperfect, Grotesque or in some circles just Hurley)…began recording with Nekamesha in the fowl year of our lord 1999. Together they broke boundaries in a cultural void and recorded several industrial/thrash/core albums for the Klunk project. While Nekamesha continued to record over twenty albums by himself, Grotesk transplanted to Northwest Arkansas to take his craft to the stage. For a few years Grotesk bounced around a handful of bands in Fayetteville before landing with the freshly forming Wrought. For years Wrought trashed stages in the four-state area playing with top-shelf acts, raising industry eye brows and racking up OMA awards for Album of the Years and Metal Band of the Year. In 2008 Grotesk got together with local DJ and long time friend Ando for an experimental hip-hop project called The Imperfects. In November of ’08 they released Cheap White Wrapper. They joined forces with other acts in the area to try and revive the underground of Fayette’nam but an economic down turn in 2009 killed several venues as well as their momentum. Grotesk is currently writing his second album A Real American Zero and playing with a revamped Wrought.
