Other than that, without cable, I'm losing track of what's what on the tube. However...I have been known to lose whole weekends to DVDs of Weeds, Veronica Mars and, yes, Desperate Housewives. I am weak. Weak.

About me: Everything you need to know can be found at my blog. It's also quite possible to learn more about me at 100 Proof Stories, but it requires a little reading between the lines...
Who I'd like to meet: Colin Powell, so I can ask him what he was thinking with the little vials and the lying and the screwing-up of his integrity. Fiona Apple and Aimee Mann, so I can ask them why they're so damn great. Pema Chodron, so I can ask her if I can follow her around for about a year and learn as much as I possibly can from her. Elizabeth Gilbert, so I can find out how you get paid to spend a year traveling abroad to amazing places figuring out your own self. Nigella Lawson, so I can get her to cook me something delectable and droolworthy and I can soak up her aura. And Daniel Craig, because he is delectable and droolworthy. Although I'd probably tell him not to say anything so he doesn't mess up the illusion.
Indeed!!! To both raising a glass and to making a visit. How could I not? Hanging with you tends to be about 1) laughing a LOT and 2) creating an experience one can report on with relish. Enjoy your curtain call today. You get a standing ovation from me - and do not let anyone drag you into repeated encores. Get thee to the wrap party post haste!!!
I'm so excited for you! Still not completely ruling out a move for our family in future, so who knows. We may end up around the corner from you again some day. We're going to miss you but will keep up with you online.
absolutely! spring can't get here soon enough. atleast with march there is a sense of moving OUT of winter and into warmer, happier weather. I think that you and I (and the Iowa garden) need the sun like nobody's business. :)
Eugenia - One thing I learned last night. The five of us know when to hold em (giant ravioli), know when to fold em (budget crab legs), know when to walk away (yup, I think 4000 calories'll do us), know when to run (back to Iowa City due to creeping feeling we are in cockpit of the demise of culture and civilization).
(CONFESSION: I counted my money while I was sitting at the table. I didn't wait "until the dealin's done.")
