Beginning with incorporating Asian Drum and Bass, Reggaeton, and Meren-Rap songs into his late '90s house party sets, The Incredible Kid built his reputation igniting Portland, Oregon dance floors with the incendiary urban sounds of international dance music. In late 2000 The Kid introduced DJ Anjali to the dancing masses and the two spearheaded the bhangra and Bollywood scene in Portland through their Andaz night, Portland’s longest-running monthly party. The Incredible Kid, Anjali and E3 initiated the international urban beats scene in Portland when they co-founded the still-thriving club night Atlas in November of 2003. Alongside DJ Anjali the Kid headlined a sold-out night of “Basement Bhangra” in December of 2004 in NYC and headlined the opening night of the 2007 Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration in Vancouver, BC. The Incredible Kid has supported Digable Planets, Boban Markovic Orkestar, State of Bengal, DJ Rekha, DJ Spooky, Antibalas, Tigerstyle, J-Boogie, Karsh Kale, Dengue Fever, Extra Golden, DJ Collage, Alter-Echo, Maneesh the Twister, Ming and FS, Maga Bo, and Nickodemus from Turntables on the Hudson. He is also featured in the Adidas Originals/XLR8R book “Bedroom Rockers.”
FUJAKO came out of the clash of Jonathan Uliel Saldanha and Nyko Esterle, two producers obsessed with echo and bass. The first one, raised in Portugal and part of the collectives Soopa and Mécanosphère, deals with sonic alchemy, and is also known as HHY. The second one, raised in France, part of the Radon collective and a rider of the sound waves, is also known as Ripit. Both met to summon music of unlooped hip-hop, filled with spectres of haunting dub and ecstatic scapes.
LANDFORM, their first record (out on Wordsound Digital) was born in a small stone house studio in the burnt forests and mountains of Portugal, between paradise and the gate of hell, made from soundscapes and beats recorded on mostly acoustic instruments, created in an hostile -yet natural- environment. After the initial production phase in the woods, LANDFORM was then haunted by the voices of several guests such as Sensational, Seraphim, Native, Cheravif and Scalper, as well as by the additional trash turntablism of DJ Urine.
