this band has a life of its own, it always did. we were not so much controlled as we held on and hoped there were going to be surviours at the end. in the summer of 97 we, (Val Dan and i) (Tom) had just met. we were writing music that everyone hated because it was too complicated and impossible to play. (many drummers, so, so many drummers) finally we met a few people who understood what it was to be a "dog" who we could help and who helped us. demos, more demos negotiations and finally deals. we (and most musicians) don't get signed by labels, but align ourselves with the genius people who recorded us. (thank you Malcolm and Dave) even though they didn't understand what or why we played like that or dressed the way we did, and for the most part hated the little world that the four of us lived in, the studio wanted us after watching only one live show at the powerstation of all places. out came the love and a record deal was spawned then readjusted when the studio partnership dissolved. karekare, touring, videos, partner break ups for all of us, with a large helping of what ever you fancy, more touring, constant writing, photos, overdoses, visit to the crazy house, drugs, all kinds of crazy including line up change just to keep on playing thanks Wolf (nice lip-syncing), recovery "anshluss" is born. Dan, Aaron, Val, Tom have almost finished pre-prodution on indicator dogs album to be titled "in the face of disagreement". so that is the story but like all bands who stick their collective heads in the noose, time seems to disappear then taps you on the shoulder to say hello. the new album is a glimpse at the new dogs sound we have evolved like all things that learn. malcom has agreed to produce it which means our twists and turns will sound just as we want them to under his brilliant ear. of the new album i can only say its full of the usual scary hijinxes hidden stories and fear of our ever shrinking world. so the dogs will be playing some shows in the beautiful n.z. then off to the usual destinations for a few months to play even more shows then home for a quick holiday then on with the next album blah .................................... post Val now lives in australia, mate, with the harvester of sorrow, 'Arry has two beautiful children -still a killing machine on the drums, Dan happy with beautiful new wife zaneta jetting around the world like always, Tom married to the beautiful Jessica, yay.

Hey team. Cheers for the add. Haven't seen much from you guys in the way of gigs in a bit. When are we likely to see one? How long before you all head overseas?
The ever infamous dogs. No one from the actual original band ever checks this page.... infact I'd be surprised if they even knew it existed. Some guy who joined right at the end checks it every now and then. I heard Thom-ass Henry was back in the game. Good to hear. Things are back to normal, but at the same time very far from normal (in the musical sense of course). O.
