This site has been established to make friends, network, and exchange music with fellow muscians, bands, promoters, agents, and other folks in the music industry throughout the world. Add up well over a thousand shows, tours across the U.S., jaunts to Ireland, numerous festivals, town concerts, fairs, pubs and theatres, and you have over a decade in the life of Colorado's celtic rock pioneers, The Indulgers.
The Indulgers, a celtic /western americana/rock band hail from Boulder, Colorado USA, but their founding roots and influences can be found in Ireland.
The Indulgers are: Dublin born Damien McCarron Vocal/Guitar, Pat Murphy Drums & Percussion, Renee Fine Violin, Chris Murtaugh Bass, and Mike Nile Vocal/Guitar, Mandolin, Whistle, Accordian, and Electronic Bagpipe.
It began with The Indulger's first song "In Like Flynn", written and recorded over ten years ago - which garnished awards from "Just Plain Folks" for best celtic song of the year as well as best celtic album of the year. Now over a decade later The Indulgers continue to push forward with new and exciting original celtic rock music.
The Indulgers new single and video... "Whiskey Tonight" is the first release in 2009 from the band's upcoming 7th CD - "Whiskey Tonight". The new song hits home with the same good time impact expected of an Indulger's song, heralding a return to their "rockin' pub sound".
"Whiskey Tonight" follows their 6th CD "Out In The West", (nominated for best celtic album of 2009 this year by Just Plain Folks) a CD with a broader scope of arrangement and songwriting inspired by the western legends, culture, and experiences of the Irish/Scottish immigrants, who came to America bound for a new life in the west.
The Indulgers continue to create and develop an exciting new blend of celtic western/rock/folk rhythms that move and inspire, delivering live shows from San Francisco to New York City and abroad equal to the best in the celtic genre.
Recently The Indulgers completed the world's 1st "International Internet Virtual Pub Tour" compiling the world's most complete virtual list of pubs, taverns, saloons, brew houses, and bars in the world, (See the list further of pubs/saloons/and bars who participated on the Indulgers "Green myspace site"). Their new song and video "Whiskey Tonight" was posted on the comment page of all of the participating myspace venues. Friends were contacted and asked to stop by and visit the myspace page of their favorite pub or venue and watch the band perform by clicking on the "Whiskey Tonight" video. It has worked wonderfully, and given folks and opportunity to visit "virtually" their favorite pub, (bring your own beer)!
Thanks to all that participated in the 1st world pub tour. The Indulgers will return on another virtual pub tour with a new song and video.
The Indulgers completed a successful tour of Ireland making arrangements with a professional travel agency to bring along friends and fans interested in touring with the band. Flights, hotels, bus, food, and a site-seeing tour guide was included in the package trip. The band perfomed in Ennis with Johnny Fean guitarist and vocalist of Horslips a band considered to be one of the true pioneers of celtic rock music, and after a live radio broadcast in Kilkenny performed at the famed Cleere's Theater, ending with a livley night in Damien's hometown Howth, a beautiful fishing village just outside of Dublin. Damien's family, friends, and locals joined the "Ireland Tour 2007" crew for a memorable final night performance in Ireland. The band made many new friends and contacts on the journey and plans to return to Ireland again in the future.
