My name is Chris. I live in Derby with my superstar of a wife who makes me the proudest man in the world every single day.
I have no interest whatsoever in fashion, scenes, or pretending to be something I am not just to make people like me. If you like me, you like me, and if you don't... it's your loss!
I have a conflicted personality which involves being an introvert and an extrovert simultaneously, as well as thinking and feeling in equal measure. It's pretty tough going, actually.
I have been known to bloviate from time to time, and I frequently contradict myself due to being quite black and white while also fascinated with the grey areas we all get tangled up in.
I have made it my goal to work through every problem and pain I experience so I might be of some use to others, be it in giving advice, or simply being there to listen. I love people and my friends immeasurably. I love to laugh. I love to have fun. I love to make a fool of myself. I love it when people tell me they were thinking about me. I love life. I love the enigma of human nature. The world is my church and Christ is my rock. I don't pretend to be anything other than myself, and I'm proud of it. I feel sad when I see people with closed minds. I want to help fix everybody, despite being a broken fool myself.
I finished a degree in Film & Video production, embarked on a PGCE in Further Education, then decided I didn't like it and tried to discover my purpose in life... I make films and record music; acoustic, weirdy, post-folk stuff as 'theinfiniteregress', harsh experimental stuff as 'In Kit Form'. You can check it out through the links below. I've also just started making ambient drone work which is heavily influenced by the work of Eliane Radigue. So far it's going pretty well.
I'm a member of Side Effect Euphoria, an experimental audio-visual live experience which is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever been a part of.
I love meeting new people and finding out what new stuff they can teach me, and what I can share with them. I have a habit of finding absolutely everything brilliant and get kind of excited about the stupidest things, and then suddenly despairing for no apparent reason and wanting the world to close in around me. I guess you could say I'm a melancholic. Or maybe just manic depressive.
I get bored easily, but when I find something interesting I won't ignore it but usually become hopelessly obsessively infatuated with it, telling people about the exact same thing multiple times but always with the same enthusiasm. Sometimes people don't get me. Sometimes people don't get me but they like me anyway. Sometimes people don't get me and don't get on with me. Sometimes people get me and decide to be friends with me. Sometimes people don't get me but decide to be friends anyway. Aren't people fantastic!?!
I have Extraverted Intuition with Introverted Feeling, and I often behave like a hermit and am thoughtful and quiet until I suddenly burst into a raging social animal, consuming company and conversation, until I retreat, exhausted, to think and consider again.
I write a blog (as well as the one on here, which may cross over from time to time) which is a kind of overenthusiastic attempt at making some kind of daily observational comment, be it about myself or the world around me.
- Christ is more Hardcore than you do or don't give Him credit for.
- Don't mock something you haven't tried to understand first.
- Never take yourself too seriously.
- Never take what you have for granted.
- Truth is not as abstract as your friends would like to convince you.
Dont forget to check out my music projects:
Also check out the fantastic audio-visual experiMental extravaganza that I'm a proud man to be a member of
