2003-2004: Started as a solo act, featuring Christian Kann (who also runs/used to run the
BSBTA and Art is a Joke labels). The project was an attempt at "experimental
indie pop", without being overly strange or overly twee.
2004-2005: Became a loose knit long distance collaboration-based "band", also featuring
Jessy Kendall, Preston Spurlock, Karsten Høegh, Steve Bynghall, John Price, John
Crockett, Niklas Steffensen H., Karina Jørgensen and Penny Cheung (most of whom
I have never met).
2006: Rapidly moving away from the lo-fi pop song / happy noise formula, and
venturing into more abstract psychedelic territories, utilizing cheap instruments
and outdated technology, often eschewing melody altogether. Currently, The Inhibitionists
are Kann, Kendall & associates, Høegh and Line Sabroe. We are constantly recording new material.
2007-: Inhibitionists, having dropped the "The" in its name, is a solo project once again. Any collaborations will be released as Inhibitionists & [name of artist or band]. Spin-off (solo and non-solo) projects may or may not include 'Quarter Moon & Harpsichord', 'The Ernie Coombs Memorial Orchestra', 'Kowloon II' and 'Many Men Have Loved the Bells".
