Joe Czarnecki "The instrumental Guitar Massacre" (Boulder, Colorado - Berlin, Germany)
In 2003 Joe Czarnecki left the horse farm where he grew up to move to Berlin. He took a
detour to Alaska where he worked in a Fish factory to earn the money to live in Europe for
a few months. It's not your typical story and Joe is not your typical musician.
His songs are as dynamic as the Colorado landscape where he grew up. They move beyond stereotypes or genre. He tells fascinating stories with just an acoustic guitar. The songs arepowerful, full of twists and turns, played with clarity, emotions as big as Colorado stormclouds and a virtuosity that invites the listener to travel with him.
Inspired by everything between Charles Mingus, Modest Mouse, Kaki King and Andy
McKee, Joe shows us a love for musical storytelling mixed with technique that will make
your jaw drop.
After a few years of back and forth between Alaska, Seattle and Berlin, Joe proudly calls
Berlin his home. He has played all over Germany, throughout Europe and the USA.
At the end of 2008, Producer/Songwriter, Jovanka v. Wilsdorf (Quarks) came across Joe's music and
wanted to work with him. After just a few hours of playing together they had their first
songs and their band SCHEINING was brought to life. Wilsdorf then suggested that Joe
should release his solo album on Goldrausch Records the label of the Popschutz Studio.
After a meeting with the Goldrausch/Popschutz team, and a mini concert from Joe, it was
clear to everyone that Joe was the perfect new signing for Goldrausch records.
Produced by Wilsdorf and recorded by Arne Bergner, the album was recorded in Popschutz
Studio with a live audience making it possible to record the music in the best quality as
well as capture Joe's intense live energy. The audience held thier breath, and the crew
worked hard and after seven studio nights, everyone was more than happy and quite exhausted.
The album "Watch Now" comes out this Ocktober.
