Sounds Like
I always say we sound like Earth, Wind, and Fire, but not many people agree with me because I can only assume that they are insanely jealous that we sound like Earth, Wind, and Fire. I guess the question is what do you think we sound like?
12-18 last week, we started tracking some songs which we may or may not doing something with, though we are taking our sweet ass time in getting our acting together. in the meantime, you should come out to Emo's on Jan 2 to watch us play a free show. 11-16 Come Watch us, Peter and the Wolf, and Charles Potts Magical Windmill Band tonight at the Mohawk. also here's a video from a show our friend Anup Mistri shot not too long ago. thank you kindly Anup.
the electric domestic
9-28 We're playing a really great show October 12 at The Mohawk (10th and RedRiver) w/ Martin Crane's Band (listen to 'Nobody's Listening' and tell me that song isn't great), Peel, and Tammany Hall Machine . We're finishing up material for a future recording (possible double ep? ), and in the mean time, setting it up so that you can actually buy the album directly from us (damn you paypal!).. Benny's going to be opening our set as normal. 8-31 So everyone's finally back in the same place, and we've been practicing some and writing a whole slew of new songs which we're eager to share with you guys.. anyways, we've got some shows in the work in the not too distant future, but for now come out to Emo's Lounge on Saturday Sept. 9 where we'll be playing with White Whale (ex-getupkids, buttercup), Eux Autres, and Alright Tonight (members of those peabodies).. and even though I hear the place smells, I'm very excited about. doors at 10. $5, Benny's is going to be doing his oft-misunderstood, predominantly anti-argentine comedy set before us. hope to see you there.. 6-5 Stan's in Italy, Tomas is working for the argentine consulate in houston, Aaron is probably drunken skate boarding somewhere, and I just back from a much needed trip with my pops.. We're laying low for the next month till Stan/Santiago gets back in early July.. In the meantime, if you don't already have, you can pick up a copy of the album at Waterloo and other places around Austin or at a show or you can yell at us and we can work something out.. 5-6 hey guys, This Saturday night May 13, We're having a CD release party for "Capital Flight" at the Victory Grill (1104 E. 11st).. Tickets are 5 buckets pre-sale (at end of an ear, or austin mopeds, or if you bug diego or stan about it), or 8 at the door (which i know is steep), or 10 bucks and you get the 14song CD.. Also, this will be our first show ever with our good friend Aaron Castillo who is more street than any person i've ever met. Hope to see you there. Listen to the new tracks here.. 3-6 hey guys, This Saturday night March 11, Stem and Leaf is having a launch party show with us, peel, the unbearables, the handsome charlies, and the happy bullets at the Victory Grill (off east 11 near the longbranch inn) @ 8.. We play Second.. Joel from Ink will be playing the part of fill in drummer, you may play the part of parttime lover.. :) click here for more info 2-12 Lots of news.. anyways, our friends at Stem and Leaf have so gratiously decided to put out Capital Flight which we recorded back in the day with Jason James at Spin Studios and has been recently mastered with the omnipresent Jerry Tubbs at Terra Nova.. Also, we're playing an all ages show this Wedsnday, Feb 22 at Flamingo Cantina's with Emily's favorite band Stories from the Frontier, and this Friday with one of my favorites the Black in Houston at Walters on Washington.. Also, our friend Charity took some photos of us this past week, so you should check them out and make fun of us.. one love. i'm out. 12-20 Just thought you might want to know... the fine folks at Whiskey and Apples have included a track of ours in their winter 2005 compliation and that makes us happy.. they have got a great thing going on and we highly recommend checking out what they're doing. 11-15 We are playing a FREE SHOW this Saturday Night, Nov. 19 at the Hole in the Wall with some really good bands. Seriously, free. The 80's hoot night with Maneja Beto, Consider the Source, Shane Bartell, and Lalaland went great. We covered Rem,the Cure,When in Rome, the Pixies, and lied about covering Bunny Riot and played a new one. Apparently Diego sounds like the guy from Lalaland.. Thanks to all 10-16 The Clap Clap show was wonderful and it turned out This Will Destroy You did destroy us (not so much physically as emotionally).. Thanks to everyone who came out to the Triple Crown. 9-27 First off, thanks so much to everyone who came to the Austinist Party last Saturday Night. Click Here For an article on the show and pictures!!! So I know its last minute notice, but this weekend we're playing with the great Maneja Betoand Lalaland. This show is going to be a lot of fun. Everytime I've seen maneja beto I've had a great time.. lots of dancing (serious dancing, not indie swaying in place dancing, but the real deal)I seriously can't recommend these guys enough.. you should come out. CLICK HERE FOR The Story Behind Our Name, etc.. An old interview which never came to be
8-22
Our first show with Tomas in Houston and our show in Austin with Cari went great!!! Benny killed with the cannibal jokes as well. Thanks to everyone who came out as you rule the school (same goes for Ellerd, Bring Back the Guns, AM Syndicate and The Black who all put us to shame in their own distinct ways). For now, we're finishing up artwork, mastering the album, and trying to book shows for the upcoming months (wink wink). Also, our dear friend Emily Polina Langford Rosenblum of Drifting Nature Management is going to start helping us with stuff such as remembering to floss daily and exercise infrequently.
8-15
THANKS TO EVERYBODY WHO CAME OUT TO THE SHOW AT STUBBS w/ CANOE AND THE EARLY TAPES (props to Justin, Cari, and Joan Benicio Wheeler for tearing it up on stage for us). WE HAD A BLAST AND HOPE YOU DID TOO.
We've finished tracking for a new 14 song full length, "capital flight", mixing , and just need to master the LP, finish the artwork, etc... The songs up currently are unfinished. We have an old full length titled "the language barrier" which is out of print for now.
If you would like an e-invite to our cd release party at Stubbs please send us your e-mail! Your printed invite will get you 2 dollars of a 5 dollar E.P. as well as enter you in a raffle to win cds and t-shirts. Don't worry, it will just be the one e-mail, we won't continually harrass you. Thanks!
Yo I miss you guysss. Im gonna try and make it up there on friday, but try and book a show in Houston before you all leave the country AGAIN. One day i am afraid you may never come back. Record some new shit also. sweet
In my Spanish class today, I found out that there was an assignment from the previous class, which I missed: bring an interesting fact about Argentina. So, of course, I talked about capital flight. Thanks guys; you saved me!
See these guys and tons of your other favorite bands without paying cover! The Red River Pass is on sale at UnlockAustin.com, Waterloo Records, End of An Ear, Beerland, Mohawk, and Club DeVille!
Wait. . .I have to *come* to your show for the CD? That sounds like bribery to me! And as your (future) elective public official, all I have to say is . . . well, I was gonna come anyway. C'ya there!
Oh, by the way, Tammany Hall Machine really is a great band -- that show's gonna rock!
Hey guys -- could you put up "you talk a lot of shit my love. . ." ? I haven't seen my CD with that song in ages because people keep "borrowing" it, and I'm missing it pretty badly. Because that song is the best song in the universe.
Oh, also, play more shows. Also, you guys are cool.
heeeeeeeey guys, i love the stuff. i remmeber seeing you guys like my freshman year. "i donno what i said, i donno kno wwhat i said, as fast as a go!" or something along that. if you wanna play a show together or something we should do it, playground and everyone else? i donno could be fun
Funny story... I was in H town talking to one of my little sisters friends and he was all, " So you like music, have you ever heard of a band called Interest Kills, they are one of my favorites." Apparently you have a teen cult following that a certain ex Flordian was unaware of.
The masters sound awesome. Everyone's Equivalent is timeless. The words, the guitars, and the progressions are just perfect. REally cool effect on the vocals also. Can't wait till Santi gets back and yall start playing shows again.
Hey Diego - how goes...i am doing some hardcore PHP now...finally got into the swing of it - thanks for teaching me...anyway, i've been listening to your CD at work and so I thought I would drop this note. Your CDs great. It makes me want to debug my stupid code!
