Tom started the Irritations in the early 90s in North Carolina with a bass player named Chris, after playing in Mad Brother Ward and the Screaming Street Trash. Later, Jeremy joined on bass. When the original lineup split up in the 90s, Tom moved to Southern California, and started a new lineup of the band, going through different drummers, and adding bassist Scott Free. After working with a drummer named Lori (who later ended up in Diablo 44), he ended up with Chuck on drums. Lots of shows were played, and lots of songs were recorded. Chuck later left to play bass with 647, Downstroke, and later, Thru With It. RT, drumming for Crash Coarse, and playing various instruments with the Eyesores, joined up. Jonas also played bass at some shows. Gerg joined up on second guitar also. The Irritations are not currently active, but Tom and RT are now in Circle City Seven (which you can see at http://www.myspace.com/circlecityseven), and the bass player is Bert from Black Dragon.
The music in the player is from 2001-2005, and features Chuck, Scott, me, Greg, Jonas and Tom. I don't have access to any recordings of the earlier lineup from Charlotte, NC- if you got 'em and would like them up here feel free to email.
Disclaimer: this site's not run by Tom, it's run by RT the drummer from 2002-2005. I first saw the Irritations and got to know them before I joined in 2001, so as far as the early history, I'm doing my best but probably have fucked it up a little. Tom is currently playing in the Misanthropes (http://www.myspace.com/themisanthropespage), and the Irritations name is pretty much retired for now.
Lucius Lowe brings one of his earliest productions "Sweet music" bang up-to-date on the latest release from Boogs Music. The package brings three different flavours to your record box - The classic, smooth vocal house sound of the "High on the groove mix," Hard-hitting club sounds from the "Thru the roof mix" and the deep and soulful groove of the original 2003 mix. Featuring haunting vocals from newcomer Lois Taylor, the package gives an accurate measure of how Lucius' production skills have been honed between composition of the original 2003 mix and more recent remixes. The "Thru the roof mix" also marks Lucius' first commercial release, included on the compilation CD "Dancefloor '06" from Manchester's D6 Records. Think Ian Carey meets the Groove Junkies and you won't be far off with this excellent offering from Boogs Music... Release date 9th december, advance promo's available NOW at:
