ENGLISH:
Donato Silvestri (guitars), Livio Ghilardi (bass) and Ambrogio Locardo (drums) founded THE BITTER END at the beginning of september 2005.
Donato and Ambrogio previously played in a punk/grunge cover band called Forbidden Date. It is Livio's first group.
After two weeks of rehearsals, Giuseppe Liuzzi (vocals) joined the band.
The purpose of the band was and still is to play a mix of metal and punk (the genres they love) being original (very difficult thing nowadays). Their name is taken from Sum-41 "The Bitter End".
THE BITTER END played live for the first time on the 23rd of December, at Classic High School "Laterza", in Putignano (BA). In the setlist there were songs by Offspring, Blink-182, Green Day, Sum 41 and a special punk cover of "Jingle Bells".
At the beginning of 2006 the band composed its first song, called "Metal Punk". With this song, the band got the 14th place in a musical contest named "Giovani Note" (for infos: GiovaniNote). "Metal Punk" was also released on a compilation sold all over Italy.
After other shows, Giuseppe started playing rhythm-guitars in the band.
After their gig at AlbaLumen in Noci, the band stopped playing for a while. This break lasted 5 months: Giuseppe and Livio played acoustic sets for parties, Ambrogio and Donato reunited with their former band, Forbidden Date.
Due to musical and personal differences, Donato left the band in early 2007. The band searched a new guitarist, but then decided to continue
as a trio without a second guitar. After a few shows and other passages on webradios, at the beginning of January 2008 the band entered a recording studio with Giuseppe Schinaia and recorded its first EP, called "Converge All-Scars".

Donato Silvestri (chitarra), Livio Ghilardi (basso) e Ambrogio Locardo (batteria) fondarono i THE BITTER END all'inizio di settembre del 2005. Donato e Ambrogio suonavano prima in una cover band punk/grunge chiamata Forbidden Date. Per Livio era la sua prima esperienza.
Dopo due settimane di prove Giuseppe Liuzzi (voce) entrò nella band.
L'obiettivo della band era ed è suonare un mix di metal e punk (i generi musicali che più amano) cercando di essere originale (una cosa molto difficile nell'attuale mercato discografico). Il nome della band è ispirato alla canzone omonima dei Sum 41.
I THE BITTER END suonarono dal vivo per la prima volta il 23 dicembre 2005 al Liceo Classico-Linguistico "Laterza" di Putignano (BA). Nella setlist c'erano canzoni di Offspring, Blink-182, Green Day, Sum 41 e una speciale versione punk di "Jingle Bells".
All'inizio del 2006 la band compose il suo primo brano, "Metal Punk". Con questa canzone i THE BITTER END arrivarono quattordicesimi al concorso musicale "Giovani Note" (per info: GiovaniNote) e "Metal Punk" fu pubblicata in una compilation distribuita in tutta Italia.
Dopo altri concerti, Giuseppe cominciò a suonare la chitarra.
Dopo l'ultimo show all'AlbaLumen di Noci (BA), il gruppo smise di suonare per un po'. Questa pausa durò 5 mesi durante i quali Giuseppe e Livio fecero set acustici per delle feste, Ambrogio suonò con altre band e Donato si riunì con la sua vecchia band, i Forbidden Date. A causa di divergenze personali e musicali, Donato ha lasciato il gruppo all'inizio del 2007.
Dopo aver cercato un chitarrista solista invano, la band decide di continuare come trio, sviluppando maggiormente il proprio lato punk. Dopo alcuni show, all'inizio di gennaio 2008 la band entra nello studio di registrazione con Giuseppe Schinaia e realizza il primo EP, chiamato "Converge All-Scars"!!

Le centinaia di persone che assisterono al grandioso concerto Pugliese di Paul Dianno del 19 aprile 2007 certamente ricordano ancora quale magica esperienza essa fu, così come tutti coloro che non potettero entrare a causa del “sold-out” (il Nord Wind Pub, location dell’evento allora, conteneva massimo 500 persone) sentono ancora l’amarezza di essersi persi un eccezionale evento dal sapore storico!
