With chris carhart and zac burke, the ivy league dropouts formed in early 2008 after the disbandment of their two previous bands, ‘Hollowbody’ and ‘the getaway’. Joining with singer/songwriter maranda stamm and (for a short time) drummer Neville smith, the group began working on original material and several covers in april of 2008. in june, drummer (percussionist, to be P.C.) Neville smith left fort Lauderdale to attend florida state university, but still helps in writing and arrangement. TILDO has since replaced him with seasoned drum maestro Marcus Mobley. Most recently, Zac Burke terminated his memebership in the band to focus on school and college admissions. We wish him the best of luck in all his future challenges.
Strongly influenced by the dissident harmonics of Death Cab for Cutie, the folk-acoustic backbeat rock consistent with the likes of Manchester Orchestra, and the Experimental edgy soft-core of Broken Social Scene, the low-budget, rough-edged, parent sponsored project that is TILD will do one of two things for these young musicians: occupy them until college, or propel them through the ranks of the local scene, and jumpstart their careers as a new breed of alternative musicians focused not upon the stereotypical sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll lifestyle, but upon composing and performing real music with real lyrics and a real message.
