"Quaternary Limit? Forget it. The JCB are faster and more adrenaline fuelled than before. A front man that would give Jagger a run for his money explodes into chaos as ears fixate on "my father is dead". Fierce backing vocals from Tom Haywood paint a picture of the post punk era, as drums remain battered in a sex pistol fashion. Pumping riffs and outlandish dance moves make this fiery band a must see."
-Gig review of Thursday 4th December 2008
"[The Jacaranda Chaos Band] played a set of rocky, rolly indie songs, fronted by the passionate, stylish vocals of James Robinson. Playing with lots of energy and showmanship, the band put up some thrilling songs, executed with cart loads of effort. Sizzling performances were accentuated by dazzling guitar work from Tom Ugli and some athletic bass playing from Kevin, including some tight staccatto passages. The JCB demonstrated that they can dig deep to produce some amazing sounds."
-Gig review of Friday 7th November 2008
In November 2006, a four-piece indie-punk outfit from Leicester journeyed north to play The Cavern. While the gig itself was wonderful, they had an even better time in a small Liverpudlian pub. This pub was The Jacaranda.
The band ultimately disbanded, but then ultimately (again) regrouped. As the old name was appalling, a new one was needed. This was not a problem easily solved, however, and for almost three months our heroes argued fruitlessly.
In the end, someone remembered the night in Liverpool and suggested Jacaranda. This was a boring name. It needed something else.
Remembering a BBC review the old group once got, another name was suggested: Organised Chaos. Realising they were not an overly precise metal band, however, our friends also abandoned this name.
“But wait,” an unnamed member said: “how about THE JACARANDA CHAOS BAND?” The name stuck.
