Each band member brings his own influences: James - Dave Matthews, The Stone Roses, U2, Lenny Kravitz; Adam - The Rolling Stones, Curtis Mayfield, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan; Chris - Courtney Pine, Led Zeppelin, Incubus;
Paul - The Undertones, The Clash, Janis Joplin.
Formed in February 2005 from some of the students lying around at Newcastle University, the band are currently looking for gigs this summer around the north.
James, the founder of the band, comes from good stock having been educated at Sherborne School which has produced such artists as Peter Gabriel and Chris Martin of Coldplay. His songs are original and varied yet pay clear homage to his heroes; in his music there is certainly evidence of The Dave Matthews Band and a certain Bono-esque quality to his singing.
Paul and Chris make up a formidable rhythm section and perhaps together they bring the most diverse influences to the band. Chris has played both guitar and bass in numerous bands and is passionate about all music from jazz to drum and bass, metal and hip-hop to blues. Paul, a veteran musician despite being only 21 plays not only drums but mandolin, banjo, bass and guitar. His drum technique draws from experiences of playing in punk bands, Irish folk groups and almost any other type of musical group one could imagine.
Although brought up on sixties and seventies folk, rock and soul music, the tastes of the bands lead guitarist, Adam, have since broadened considerably. His playing consequently reflects a wide variety of musical styles from the early blues of Muddy Waters and BB King to modern Americana and new country of the likes of Ryan Adams and Ray Lamontagne.
