The Jank is an indie rock band based in San Francisco. They have four members, each of which plays an instrument. Each instrument makes sounds when it is played. Over a period of several minutes at a time, the Jank like to use the sounds of their instruments to form songs. The songs in turn provide background music to drinking alcohol, talking and the playing of billiards. When each song is over, people have been known to clap or whistle. Pop superstar Avril Lavigne has been quoted as saying the Jank are "adequate."
