Hi, my name's Jason. I was once the leader of a musical group called Star City. We played music all over the place but were from NYC. We put out two cds that are still available on iTunes and other online outlet. I have hundreds of them in my basement, too. After Star City, I made a solo EP called "Happy All the Time" with my friend Jay Bennett. Sometimes you can hear those songs here on my My Space site. Also can be heard on my 'real' site (link to the left). I played most everything, Jay played the rest. Oh, and there was a drummer named Tim. Somewhere around the same time the family left NYC and moved back to WV. We bought a house and I put a studio in the basement and recorded a bunch more songs. You can hear the rough, unfinished mixes of some of those songs here too. After we got to WV I decided to get some more schooling and wrote some stuff. I got accepted to the Iowa Writers Workshop. So we left WV again and moved to Iowa.
In the past few years I've written a collection of short stories and finished my first novel "The Fourteenth Colony". In my spare time I run Sad Iron Studio here in Iowa City. Over the past year I've recorded and mixed for Matthew Grimm and The Red Smear, Shame Train, The Lonleyhearts, and a bunch of other. I'm currently working on the debut record for my new band, Sad Iron Music. Look for that sometime in 2010.
Thanks for stopping by.
