Influences
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many to list!!! But here are at least a few of my personal musical influences: Frank Zappa, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Steve Jones, Steve Stevens, Blues Saraceno, Stan Lee, Bernie Torme, Billy Sheehan, Adrian Belew, Gary Moore, Todd Rundgren, Martin Kidd, Steve Goodban, etc etc etc
Sounds Like
The Jaymz In Flaymz sound like: whatever we feel like doing at that moment in time..... Combustible Jimmy sound like: whatever we feel like doing at that moment in time in front of an audience. Personally, with my own guitar playing & writing, I know that there's a little bit of all my influences lurking inside just waiting for an excuse to leap out at some point...I guess that you can all make up your own minds as you listen to the tracks that I place in the player from month to month.......
Ok...I hate doing these things (Steve especially hates doing these things in the 3rd person!)...blah blah blah.....
I'm a guitarist & instrument technician based in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area of BC, Canada. I am originally from the UK and performed & toured extensively in the UK & mainland Europe before moving to Canada in 1997. I am proud to be currently involved in the following bands / projects: Ovrdrvn.com, The Jaymz in Flaymz, Combustible Jimmy, Redhead Mack, and Anglevette.
I will have the utmost honour/pleasure/fun (etc!) of performing with Ron Thal (aka Bumblefoot) later this year as a member of his band for part of the Rock Against Diabetes 2008 shows (www.rockagainstdiabetes.org) in Las Vegas. The full band line-up for the event is just being finalized so more news will follow. Currently, the following amazing talents are involved: Ron Thal, Richie Kotzen, Rafael Moreira, Jeff Berlin, Paul Mirkovich, Nate Morton, Les Warner....with even more musical 'monsters' in the works as they say... You know that you should stay tuned!
The various tracks loaded into the player are from miscellaneous eras, bands sessions, & projects from the past 10 to 15 years or so. These include the Anglevette release "Fully Loaded" [all guitar work and (music) writing are courtesy of yours truly], an old 4-track 'portastudio' recording from around '93 or maybe '94 which was voted to the 1 spot in the "virtual arsehole"...ermmm...I mean "virtuoso" category...for a couple of weeks on Acidguitar.com (sponsored by EBMM).....and another is from early '91 and from the all too short lived Patrick Moore & The Stargazers band (co-written + lead guitar by yours truly) etc etc Feel free to message me if you have questions about any of the tracks featured in particular.
