The JB Seed - an arts grant fund. The JB Seed is officially five years old! And to celebrate, this years grants will offer greater diversity and make the program more accessible for artists across a wider range of disciplines.
The JB Seed aims to help Australian artists from any background, creating art and music across any genre, to establish themselves as self-sustained, professional artists. Over the past five years, with the help of a bunch of like minded music loving folk they've been extremely proud to hand out over $400,000 to incredibly talented, motivated and original artists who could do with some financial support. It’s been an honour to give these people a helping hand. This year we have announced two brand new categories that will join two mainstays of the JB Seed.

Upstairs in Vibe Cafe on Smith St, Fitzroy. An intermit environment of 3 Local singer/songwriters sitting together ‘in a round’ taking in turns to share their songs and stories. A great Friday night out! ......6 artist for $5!!!!! First round starts at 8pm. Second round 10pm Shane will be playing in the 2nd round of the evening. Cost: Just $5 Feel free to check out the other artist in the round: myspace.com/nyssabradsworth myspace.com/johnlingardmusic
This happens EVERY Friday night. If you havent been to a Melting Pot yet....It's about time you treat yourself. Keep up to date at: www.myspace.com/meltingpotonline
Come down and check it out soon. I'll be playing this Friday if you're interested...
Melting Pot is all about the music - a good time for the audience and with drink prices to suit the budget, a chance for local live musicians to get exposure in a relaxed, friendly environment.
The “Round” concept has proven to be a very popular format overseas and it’s time Melbourne has one! The idea is to provide local singer-songwriters with a different type of performing environment – as though they’re performing in your living room with a P.A and a bar that serves awesome food.
Entry is just $5 for all 6 artists!!! My round starts at 8pm
