La formazione inizia le attività nel 1995 come duo percussioni e voce sviluppando una grammatica improvvisativa in relazione con le strutture suggerite dalla forma canzone. La formazione, progettualmente aperta, ben presto ingloba il fiatista Edoardo Ricci come membro stabile e lo spazio occupato dalle percussioni si amplia con l’utilizzo di materiale preparato, spesso registrazioni di improvvisazioni del gruppo stesso, ricollocato e ricontestualizzato.
Definiti dalla stampa di un inascoltabilità senza precedenti il Jealousy Party rilancia la sfida con la volontà di affermare che non esiste musica difficile ma troppo spesso siamo noi ad essere faciloni. Rock ‘n’ roll astratto, Funk nichilista, estetica del detrito, heavy voodoo espressionista: con qualunque definizione vogliate ingabbiarli il Jealousy Party è qui per testimoniare che qualsiasi sia l’oscuro meccanismo che vi fa battere il piedino l’essenza del suono è nella visione.
Il JP ha partecipato a festival di musica elettronica, improvvisata e rock, collaborando negli anni con musicisti, etichette e collettivi di teatro e danza e di elaborazione politica e multimediale tra i quali Nicotina, Steve Rozz, Jacopo Andreini, Jimmy Gelli, Vincenzo Fiore Marrese, Linda Salvadori, Dean Roberts, DJ Skuamo, Eugenio Sanna, Roy Paci, Renato Cordovani, Boris Hauf, Ogino Knauss, Fred Casadei, Bron Y Aur, Kinkaleri, Syd Migx, Massimo Contrasto, Strano Network, Uochi Toki, Snowdonia.

Gioacchino Turù e Vanessa V. sono una delle nuove promesse del pop italiano meno convenzionale ed irriverente. Scrivono canzoni che mettono insieme anti-pop elettronico a bassa fedeltà, con spruzzate di cantautorato nonsense e schizzi di romanticismo urbano. Batterie elettroniche 8-bit, tastierine, pifferi, strumenti giocattolo di fortuna e groove box sono la strumentazione messa insieme dal duo nelle canzoni che compongono “il crollo della stufa centrale”. Il regista vi fonde due racconti di Edgar Allan Poe (La caduta della casa degli Usher e Il ritratto ovale) con altri spunti dello scrittore americano, ma poco interessato al macabro, li rilegge in chiave animista. All'epoca godette di ampia fama anche se non ripagò i costi di produzione. In questo film compare come co-sceneggiatore e aiuto-regista il futuro maestro del cinema surrealista Luis Buñuel.
Trama: Un amico va a trovare Roderick Usher che vive nella malinconica magione con la moglie Madeline. Quest'ultima deperisce man mano che Roderick la ritrae, finché muore e viene sepolta in una cripta. Ma il suo decesso è solo apparente...
