I use different musicians depending on the show, where it is, and who's available.
Jeff Hinkin Band is whoever shows up that day.
Influences
Brit-pop, Beatles, REM, AC/DC, 60's, 80's alternative, 90's grunge, OO's UK bands, blues, real R&B, and my friends and I and our screwed up lives. Makes for good songwriting material.

BE SOMEONE'S HERO!
Jeff Hinkin Band
From Los Gatos, CA, comes … Brit pop? Sure enough, the Jeff Hinkin Band is busy beating Britain at its own game, turning out Brit-flavored pop rock lush with melody, flush with groove — and a rush to the brain! When your neural sensors are done processing this, you’re body will be moving and your mind will be stimulated. Engaging and warm, the atmospheric flavors of the Jeff Hinkin Band offer a unique take on the joys of pop.
Songwriting First
Rather than clinging to pretentiousness or “cleverness,” the Jeff Hinkin Band focuses simply on good songwriting. Its motto could be said to be, “Melody first, good harmony and guitars.” That’s the goal and that’s what shines through on the band’s songs. Thoughtfully layered elements of the composition are represented by skillful performances, bringing a perfect translation of the music inside these musicians’ minds to the happy ears of the public.
A Surprising Answer
Asked how music makes him feel, Jeff Hinkin responded that “music feels like a nasty kick in the balls.” A startling response to be sure, but one must look closely at the impact, so to speak, of such an answer. Such a forceful comparison is a demonstration of just how powerfully good music hits us – though with pleasure rather than pain. So if anyone in the Jeff Hinkin Band ever expresses the urge to land a blow to your person – say yes. Unless you don’t like great music.
The Artist at Work
The Jeff Hinkin Band has played the Shoreline Amphitheater, opening for Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. Writing and recording are under way at full throttle with a new album slated for release early next year. The group is currently working with A&R Select, the hottest indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
“The Jeff Hinkin Band is the musical equivalent of drinking fresh cold water after eating a strong peppermint. Or, simply, it’s a rush!” – A&R Select
Check out 13 and 14...I'll get BECK next year.

drums are confirmed and looking forward to some kick-ass music 2nite! Mod. Mark is being awesome and super-supportive as always and featured both of our albums this morning on KSCU. Rock on!
Right on man! Thanks for the communication. Looking forward to Red Rock as well. Got some good feedback from a few folks who checked out ur stuff after I sent out a couple of emails trying to round up a few heads for the show. Don;t know if it's new, but I totally dig "procrastination" and just discovered "better than that". Great shit! Too easily gets stuck in the head my friend. Talk to you soon...
At least we all stay loyal to our teams. I always remeber that James and I were the "others". Vikings and Cowboys back then... what a joke with the 49ers being who they were. Good point about the QB's stats.. Can't argue, just missing you all of a sudden. It is absolutely beutiful here. We are in Indian (is that appropriate?) summer, 60s to 70s.. all sunshine and the leaves are at peak color. Every day I walk to school and I am grateful for the weather. My living situation is such that I leave as much as possible so again, grateful for winter staying away. It will get here and last forever..
Spoken like a true San Fran fan.. Really? How long did Joe stick it out? ( Don't get me wrong I remember the 80's ) What about Peyton Manning? You have to admit it is pretty amazing that B.F. is 39 years old and still able to throw the way he does. Not to mention the way he always plays to the end. He did it so many times to us as a Packer, it is pretty cool to finally be doing it for us. Wow never thought I would be defending the guy... James still a Cowboy fan?
Wow.. you really tried to hit below the belt. Any other season, I might hang my head, but this is my boys', including Brett- season! You watch. 7 and 1.. hmm.
working on pics.. Just made contact with Jeff Brooks after 23 years, pretty fun.
Getting ready to go back to beddy bye... Hope you're not working too hard, or at least having fun while you're doing it if possible... I'm sore for some reason... I think I am just getting old.
Gosh, I wanted to send a quick hi and how are ya to your page & it became an hour long ordeal. Were you aware that your profile underwent routine maintenance for the time it took me to listen to an entire Adolescents CD? Anyway, I love ya hunny!
