| About The Jeff Pershing Band |
|
The Jeff Pershing Band radiates a playful and positive energy. The band
combines uplifting lyrics with improvisations influenced by rock, funk, blues, jazz,
Latin, Afro pop, and reggae. Even non-dancers are compelled to shake
themselves of inhibitions when they hear the irresistible grooves of the Jeff
Pershing Band.
Jeff Pershing, singer/songwriter/guitar player, started playing San Francisco
clubs at the age of 16. He has honed his skills as a working musician, playing
diverse styles. Pershing studied music at San Francisco State University,
Berklee College of Music in Boston, and received a Master's Degree in Music
at California State University, Chico.
Jeff has toured the Northwestern U.S., and performed in Mexico, Central
America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Pershing has opened for Albert King,
Greg Allman, Chris Issak, Creedence Clearwater, Buffalo Springfield,
The Ventures, Elvin Bishop, and many others.
2008 is the third consecutive year that The Jeff Pershing Band has been nominated for a CAMMIE (Chico Area
Music) Award for best world music band.
Jeff is currently a guitar instructor at Butte College.
