In the halls of Near North Montessori in Chicago, two kids named Lane Beckstrom and Andrew Rywak met in Rick Mosher's Junior High class. Lane quickly learned that Andrew played guitar and that his dad had just bought a drum set. They decided to have a little jam at Andrew's place. These jams continued and several different people (Harry Kuttner) came and played a little or just hung around. Finally we found ourselves rocking out with Brendan "Bellagio" Youngquist and Liam Cunningham. These "jams" turned into "practices" and The Jesters were born. Over the past year The Jesters have grown as a band as each individual continues to become more and more of a skilled musician.

Well, yes, on account of my living pretty far from civilization, it's hard to get to any shows or things that are happening - I have only been to a couple, and, at this point haven't seen anyone really "big name" or whatever, outside of Bonnaroo (which was incredible, by the way.)
It will be great to be able to graduate and get out of the town that I'm in, maybe move to a sort of city.. I have actually been thinking about Chicago for college for a while now, mainly because I like the idea of the particular city.
Plus, like the best "independent" record label in existence is up there - are you guys familiar with Touch and Go Records?
Hmmm. Are you guys getting many gigs up there/things happening with the band?
wow. i was hoping i'd hear from someone who found one of those things! i ended up putting ten or so of them in random places around centeroo, giving them out to cool people i met and stuff, but you're the first guy who's actually mentioned anything about it back to me.
so rad. i'm glad you listened to it, and it's cool that you found it. your guys' stuff sounds good, too. very well recorded, with a cool, sing-song, kind of folky spin. good hooks and instrumentation from all of you.
if you want, spread my cd around Chicago. i live in a one horse town where NOTHING is going on. ever. so no one really hears my music at all. any word of mouth thing that you could sort of get going on would be cool.
but anyway. there's a new track up on the space that wasn't on that CD, if you care to check it out.
other than that, how's the city? it would be really rad to live in Chicago, where all sorts of things are happening. there's NOTHING where i live. as rural as can be imagined.
Didn't get a chance to pick up the new CD on our tour. That's ok just click the image below and we'll forgive you. All songs will be on itunes soon, but the physical CD comes in a nifty recycled cardboard trifold wallet with a booklet containing song lyrics and artwork from artists we love and respect. It's a steal I promise...
