About me: About The Studio:
The Studio began in 2005 with a vision to entertain, explore, and create high-quality artistic events. Through workshops, traveling, and producing shows The Studio quickly developed into a professional theatre company with a unique voice. In October 2008 Artistic Director Jesus Quintero returned from an all-intensive workshop at the Grotowski Institute in Poland. After this experience he took the decision to suspend productions and train with his company of actors. Our vision is create an international network of artists and become a recognized institution in the US and abroad. We want to work through and for our community. The Jesus Quintero Studio is a member of the South Florida Theater League.
About the Director:
Jesus Quintero is a graduate of the Teatro Libre de Bogota’s highly-esteemed school of drama. Two of his teachers, Fernando Montes and Jairo Cuesta-both highly regarding and internationally recognized actor-teachers, studied directly with Grotowski. Besides his work in his native Colombia, Mr. Quintero has worked in New York, Cuba, Mexico, and Miami as an actor, director, playwright and teacher. Quintero recently became the first and only U.S.-based director invited to attend the prestigious Grotowski Institute in Poland. He is currently based in Miami.
