Bio
It's time. Time for Rock 'N Roll. Without embellishment. Cruising straight down the road like a juggernaut. Without the usual V8-stereotypes and flames on the wings. No skulls, no tigerstripe-guitarstraps. The Jetlegs do what the want - no compromises. Chris (Guitar/Vocals), Dominic (Drums/Backingvocals) and Martin (Bass) are absolutely aware of the fact that they won't reinvent the wheel of Rock - but they let it roll on and on. With fun, soul and sweat, raw power and euphoria. Energy that boils over. From the stage to the audience and back. Energy that used to be dangerous decades ago. When bands like the MC5, the Who, Radio Birdman or the Stooges made the established media fear for the souls of the fans, a faint breath of revolution was in the air. MUSIC THAT MEANT SOMETHING. MUSIC THAT STILL MEANS SOMETHING. At least for the Jetlegs and their fans. Launched in the year 2005 in Nuremberg/Germany, the trio recorded their first self-produced 4-Track E.P. ("The Jetlegs") - and introduced their songs live to their devotees around their hombase. In the beginning of 2007 they betook themselves into the studio of British rock dinosaur Pete Mayhew to record some of their newest songs within a couple of days. This session generated the 5-track E.P. "Alright! Let's Go!", which has won praise in the music press since then. With 9 out of 10 points in the Ox-Fanzine, issue 72, for example: " One, two, three, four: Let's go! With their second demo the band goes into full blast and plays their 5 Songs energetically. [...] Excellent guitar work and driving beats make the Jetlegs-mid-tempo appear absolutely fresh. -Arne Köpke". Or Trust Magazine: "great songwriting, really rocks". Or Sellfish: "If we had kind of a weekly released NME-blend here, we spontaneously would declare the Jetlegs as the hottest shit. -Sebastian Zapf". Besides some great shows, the Jetlegs spent most of the year 2009 in the studio to produce their first full-length album. After some sudorific sessions "Boarding Now" was released in November with a furious releaseparty at MUZ Club in Nuremberg. Armed with their new record, in 2010 the Jetlegs will be back on the road to electrify as many crowds as possible and shake some action wherever they can! Influences
We were surely influenced by the greatest bands ROCK ever had to offer. From 60's legends like the MC5, Roky Erickson, the Who, Neil Young, Rory Gallagher, the Rationals or the Sonics to 70's rockers like the Stooges, Radio Birdman, the Dictators, the New York Dolls, Mott the Hoople, Thin Lizzy, Kiss or Blue Oyster Cult to 80's heroes like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lime Spiders, Hitmen, the Nomads or the Descendents to nowadays action rockers like the Hellacopters, Thunder Express, Imperial State Electric, the Forgotten Boys, Electric 69, Los Fuocos, Märvel, the D4, the Boss Martians, the Peepshows, Bloodlights, the Yes-Men, the Flaming Sideburns, the Sewergrooves and so on... ------------------------------------------------------------------- The Gear: Chris' guitars are a '66 Epiphone Crestwood Custom, an Epiphone Crestwood Deluxe (by Roger Daguet), a '78 Gibson SG Custom, a Fender Telecaster Custom, a 80's Gibson Les Paul Reissue and a Fender Custom Shop Strat played through an Orange Or 120 Head and an old English 4x12 Cabinet with Greenbacks or a '78 Marshall JMP 2150 Combo, a '68 Laney Supergroup Head with a Marshall Handwired Cab or sometimes also a Cornell Romany Plus Combo. Chris proundly plays DIMEHEAD FX PEDALS (http://www.dimehead.de/). Martin Plays a Fender Jazz Bass with Seymour Duncan Antiquity Pickups or a Tokai Thunderbird bass through an Ampeg Tubeamp and a 4x10 Cabinet. Dom plays a Gretsch "Catalina Club Mod" Drumset (22/12/16/14) and Cymbals by Paiste. CHECK THE PIX SECTION FOR SOME PIX OF THE GUITARS! -
