Sounds Like
Hot blues with a rock and roll edge. Variety and versatility are still respected in this group. The Jezebel Project repertoire contains both original material and cover songs. The songs by other artists that we cover are not necessarily the ones which have had popular success, but touch our hearts and souls. If a song it passes the "honesty test", we do it regardless of the genre. The music is driving, soulful and real!
The Jezebel Project consists of people who have known each other and played together for a long time. The dominant thought is that every gig is the audition and the farewell performance. Fred and Red grew up together and spent years on the road in the seventies playing clubs. Fred, Red, Stacy and Brian are the core members. They put in several years together playing behind Tempa Singer as Tempa and the Tantrums. Stacy and Fred have worked together on various projects over the last twelve years. Ned came to us via the Demon Funkies. Recently, we've recruited Eef, who brings tasty guitar and harmony vocals to the mix.
We love the fact that we have many other musicians that are part of our musical family and join us regularly depending on the requirements of the show.
"Yet there is much to admire in this ancient queen. In a kinder analysis, Jezebel emerges as a fiery and determined person, with an intensity matched only by Elijah's. She is true to her native religion and customs. She is even more loyal to her husband. Throughout her reign, she boldly exercises what power she has. And in the end, having lived her life on her own terms, Jezebel faces certain death with dignity."
