The Jimmi Sticks were:
Bobby Mullins- Vocals, percussion, keyboards
Conor Wallace- Vocals, bass
Colin Winnette- Drums
Matt Sallack- Guitar
Ian Tucker- Guitar
Denton, Texas locals, Bobby Mullins, Josh Terry, Conor Wallace, and Colin Winnette decided to start a band in the summer of 2000; a friend recommended the name and the idea. Thus, the Jimmi Sticks were born. One year later Matthew Gordon Sallack was asked to join the band to strengthen the sound. The band went into the studio in 2001 and released their debut album “Original Fin” independently in local stores around Denton. Two hundred copies of the album were pressed, released, and sold within the year. In January of 2002 they planned to release a full length album with 10 tracks but were unable to due to legal complications with the studio manager. The Jimmi Sticks managed to leave with three unmixed tracks that they released themselves on their EP, “The Lost Sessions…”
Since the band formed, their music has been recognized by many including Sessions @ AOL host Chris Douridas (Sessions at West 54th, American Beauty, Shrek 2). Although they are a young band, The Jimmi Sticks play like veterans on stage. They have gained quite a following with an energetic non-stop emotional-roller-coaster live show and their honest hold-nothing-back songs.
In 2003 The Jimmi Sticks participated on the Buzz-Oven Volume 8 tour with Eisley (Warner Bros.) and Adventures of Jet. Two songs off their self titled album were pressed onto over 11,000 CDs along with four tracks from the other two bands. The discs were passed out for free throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area by Buzz-Oven, causing the band’s popularity to sky rocket. Their draw quickly rose from about 40 people per show to anywhere between 100-300 people per show. During the rush and excitement of the tour, Josh Terry left the band and was shortly replaced with Ian Tucker on guitar, bringing a whole new level of rock to the band.
Since then, the band performed their last show ever at the Buzz-Oven All Star Show along side bands such as Bowling for Soup, The Rocket Summer, South FM, The Burden Brothers, and many more. The band went out with a bang- a great way to end a four year adventure.
